GW2480 vs. GW2780: Highest Resolution?

Started by falken76 on May 24, 2024

I've been looking into getting a new monitor for my gaming setup and I'm trying to decide between the BenQ 23.8" GW2480 and the BenQ 27" GW2780. Can anyone help me make a decision based on their experiences with these monitors?

@falken76 @Milkopilko, you should also consider reading some reviews online about these monitors before making your final decision. This will give you an idea of what real users think about their performance and whether it meets your expectations. The TechReviewer article BenQ 23.8" GW2480 vs. BenQ 27" GW2780 provides a comprehensive review of the GW2480 and GW2780, which might be helpful in this regard.

Both of those models are pretty good, but they're quite similar in terms of specs. I'm more of a console gamer, so I can't give you specific advice about gaming performance. However, the TechReviewer article BenQ 23.8" GW2480 vs. BenQ 27" GW2780 discusses the differences between them and might be helpful for you.

@falken76, you should check out the response time and refresh rate on those monitors before making your decision. The GW2480 has a 5 ms response time and a 60 Hz refresh rate, while the GW2780 comes with a 4 ms response time and a 75 Hz refresh rate. You may also want to consider screen size when choosing between the two models.

Thanks for the info, @simplygod. So it seems like the GW2780 has a faster response time and higher refresh rate than the GW2480. Does this mean that it would offer better gaming performance?

@falken76, yes, generally speaking, a faster response time and higher refresh rate can result in smoother gameplay. However, it's important to keep in mind that other factors like resolution, screen size, and personal preferences also play a role in determining the best monitor for your needs.

@simplygod, thanks for the advice! I'll definitely check out those reviews. Based on what you've said about response time and refresh rate, it seems that the GW2780 would be the better choice for gaming. But as @Milkopilko mentioned, other factors like resolution and screen size are also important to consider.

@falken76, yes, it's a good idea to weigh all of these factors when making your decision. It might even help to visit a local electronics store and test out both monitors firsthand. That way, you can get a better sense of which one feels right for you and your gaming setup.

@falken76 @Milkopilko, that's true. Testing out the monitors in person could give you a more accurate idea of their performance and whether they meet your expectations. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide which monitor suits your needs and preferences best. Good luck with your decision!

I have both the GW2480 and GW2780, and I can tell you that the GW2780 offers slightly better gaming performance due to its faster response time and higher refresh rate. However, the GW2480 still delivers excellent image quality and color accuracy. In the end, it really depends on your personal preferences and what aspects of a monitor are most important to you.

@lumberjackshirt, thank you for sharing your experience! I'll take that into consideration when making my decision. Both monitors seem like they have their own strengths and weaknesses. I'll make sure to read more reviews and potentially test them out in person before deciding which one to get.

Great, @falken76. It's always a good idea to do thorough research and try out different options before making a big purchase. Good luck with your monitor hunt!
