I came across this TechReviewer article Is the BenQ 27" Zowie XL2746K Good for Gaming? that discusses the BenQ 27" XL2746K in detail, including its refresh rate and response time. It's a really comprehensive overview of the monitor.

The response time on the BenQ 27" XL2746K is quite good, especially for gaming. It's 1 ms, which means you'll have a smooth and immersive experience while playing games.

That sounds great! But what does refresh rate have to do with response time? Are they interchangeable?

Refresh rate and response time are related but distinct concepts. The refresh rate is the number of times a screen updates per second, while the response time is how long it takes for pixels to change color. A high refresh rate can make motion look smoother, but if the response time is slow, you might see ghosting or blurring.

Solution

Thanks for sharing the link, @alexalextan55! The article seems very informative. So if I want to game smoothly, should I prioritize higher refresh rates or faster response times?

Both are important, but you might want to prioritize them differently depending on your preferences and the games you play. For example, if you're into fast-paced games like first-person shooters, a high refresh rate might be more important for you. If you're concerned about ghosting or blurring in action-packed scenes, a faster response time could be more crucial.

That makes sense! I'll definitely take both factors into consideration when choosing my next gaming monitor. Thanks for the advice!

You're welcome, @diskdinomite! Just remember that it's not just about specs; personal preference and budget also play a role in your decision. Good luck with your search!

Thanks everyone for the input! I'll definitely keep these points in mind as I continue my research.
