Gaming Comp. of 27UK650-W & 27UL550-W?

I've been looking into getting a new monitor for gaming and I'm torn between the LG 27" 27UK650-W and LG 27" 27UL550-W. Has anyone had experience with these or can recommend one?

Both of them are pretty great monitors, but if I had to choose, I'd go for the 27UL550-W. The color accuracy is slightly better on that one. Have you checked out LG 27" 27UK650-W vs. LG 27" 27UL550-W for a more detailed comparison?

Solution

Thanks for the recommendation! Color accuracy is definitely important to me since I'm into graphic design as well. I'll take a look at the article you shared.

I've used both of these monitors and they're fantastic for gaming. However, if I were to choose one, it'd be the 27UK650-W because of its slightly higher resolution. But in reality, the difference isn't huge, so you might want to consider other factors like price or design as well.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I've been using the 27UL550-W for a couple of months now, and it's been great for gaming. The response time is really good, and I haven't noticed any ghosting issues. I think both monitors are solid choices, but if you're looking for slightly better color accuracy, go for the 27UL550-W.

Thanks for sharing your experience, @IAMATrader! I'm leaning more towards the 27UL550-W now. But what about the refresh rate? I've heard that's important for gaming as well.

You're right, the refresh rate is crucial for a smooth gaming experience. Both monitors have a mediocre refresh rate of 60 Hz, which might not be ideal if you play fast-paced games or want minimal input lag. For better performance, consider looking into monitors with higher refresh rates, like those in the range of 120 Hz to 165 Hz.

Thanks for all the input, everyone! I'll definitely check out more about refresh rates and consider my options. It's great to know there are both good options out there for gaming monitors.

Absolutely, @helladragon! Remember that your preferences and budget will play a significant role in your final decision. Good luck with your search!
