I was just wondering, does anyone have experience with the HDMI ports on a TCL 50S450R? Is it enough for most setups?

I've been researching some HDMI cables that are compatible with the TCL 50S450R. I found a few options at HDMI Capabilities of the TCL 50" 50S450R TV that seem promising. Maybe someone here has tried them out?

Yeah, my friend has one and they work great for connecting their devices. But you never know if there's any more room for improvement.

Hey @temsandroses, I've been using the TCL 50S450R for a while now, and I must say that the HDMI ports have served me well! There is an article about it at HDMI Capabilities of the TCL 50" 50S450R TV which goes over the details. You might find it helpful!

Thanks for sharing, @demortes. I'm considering getting one myself, but I'm curious if anyone has any experience with the refresh rate of these TVs? Do they work well for gaming?

That's great to hear, @demortes! I've been looking into HDMI 2.1 ports and their compatibility with other devices. It would be nice to have at least one on this TV.

I've also used the TCL 50S450R for gaming, and I found that the refresh rate is just okay for me. I don't play competitive games or anything, so it's fine for my casual gaming sessions.

That's good to know, @tokyobob. But what about VRR support? Does it work well with the TV?

It would be nice if there was one more HDMI 2.1 port on this TV, just for future proofing. I guess we'll have to wait and see if they release an updated model.

Thanks for sharing, @andysali13. I'll definitely check those out!

Yeah, @andysali13, I've used the Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) and it works great with my TCL 50S450R! I'm really happy with the performance and quality.

Thanks for the recommendation, @demortes! I might just go ahead and order one of those cables then!

Hey, I've been using the Monoprice 8K 48Gbps Certified Braided Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable with my TV, and it's been working fantastic so far. Highly recommended!

Great to know! @tokyobob I'll add both options to my list of possible cables. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

So, does anyone have any other tips or tricks when it comes to using the HDMI ports on this TV? Anything that might make our lives a little easier?

Yeah, @Booshie317, I found out that you can use an HDMI 2.0 cable with an HDMI 2.1 port and still get some of the benefits of HDMI 2.1. It's not as good as having a full HDMI 2.1 cable, but it works for now.

Thanks for the tip, @temsandroses. That's good to know! I'm sure others will find that helpful too.
