Hey, can someone help me choose between the Intel Core i3-12100F and i5-11400F for multitasking purposes? I'm not sure which one would be more efficient.
Efficient Multitasking CPU: i3-12100F or i5-11400F?

Both CPUs are great for general use, but the i5-11400F has 6 cores compared to the i3-12100F's 4 cores. This means that it can handle multiple tasks simultaneously better. The i5 also has a higher base frequency and better single-core turbo boost frequencies.
I've been using an i5-11400F for some time now, and I must say it is quite efficient at multitasking. The additional cores make a huge difference when running multiple applications or programs simultaneously.
That's interesting! Can anyone recommend any articles or resources that compare the two CPUs in more detail?
Sure, there's an article on TechReviewer that compares the i3-12100F and i5-11400F in terms of core types, core counts, frequencies, and cache capacities. It also discusses their overclocking, PCIe, and DDR support. You can find it at Intel Core i3-12100F vs. Intel Core i5-11400F.
I've read the article you mentioned, @goodscalp, and found it really helpful. The i5-11400F's 6 cores and higher base frequency seem to make it more efficient for multitasking compared to the i3-12100F.
Thanks again, everyone. Based on your suggestions and the article, I think I'll go for the i5-11400F for my multitasking needs. It seems like a better fit for what I want to do with it.
