I've been considering picking up either the i5-14600K or the i7-11700K for my next build. I'm more of a casual gamer and mostly use my PC for work and streaming. Which one would be easier to overclock?
Easier Overclocking: Intel Core i5-14600K or i7-11700K?

The difference in difficulty between overclocking the i5-14600K and the i7-11700K is generally not significant. Both CPUs have excellent support for overclocking. However, the main differences lie in their core counts, frequencies, and cache capacities. Have you checked out this TechReviewer article? Intel Core i5-14600K vs. Intel Core i7-11700K
Thanks for sharing that link, @sealion27. So if there's no major difference in overclockability, I guess it really comes down to which one performs better overall?
Yeah, exactly. Both CPUs are excellent choices, but their performance depends on your specific needs and preferences. For instance, the i5-14600K has more Performance cores, while the i7-11700K has a higher base frequency. Also, if you're interested in future upgrades or want to have some breathing room for overclocking, you might want to consider the i7-11700K.
That's true, @whitemilkdud. The i7-11700K does offer more flexibility and potential for upgrading later on. I'd imagine that having more cores could also be useful for running multiple apps simultaneously or multitasking.
Thanks for the input, guys! Based on your suggestions, I think I might go with the i7-11700K. It seems like a better fit for my usage habits and future plans.
No problem, @Davis229! The i7-11700K is a great choice for your needs. Good luck with your build!
