If I may add, the TechReviewer article Is the Core i7-11700KF CPU Good for Gaming? also discusses other aspects like DDR support and overclocking in more detail. You might want to check it out if you're interested in learning more about the 11700KF's performance capabilities.

Welcome, @wern1129! The 11700KF is a powerful processor, but like all CPUs, it has its downsides. For instance, the L3 cache size of 16 MB might not be enough for some graphically intensive games.

That's true, @lizz0188. I read an interesting article on TechReviewer about the Core i7-11700KF. The link is Is the Core i7-11700KF CPU Good for Gaming?. It explains that while the CPU performs well overall, its L3 cache size could be a limitation in some cases. You might want to check it out for more details.

Thanks, @MVSyndrome! I didn't realize the cache size could have such an impact on gaming performance. Are there any other drawbacks worth mentioning?

The 11700KF does not have any Performance cores, which means you won't get as big of a boost in certain games compared to CPUs with hybrid architectures.

And if you're planning on overclocking, you'll need a high-end cooler since the 5.0 GHz single-core turbo frequency can produce a lot of heat.

Another thing to keep in mind is that while PCIe 4.0 support is great for performance, it only benefits your system when using the fastest SSDs and GPUs. If you're not already running those, you might not see as much improvement.

Thanks for all the info! So, overall, the Core i7-11700KF is still a solid choice for gaming, but there are some things to watch out for?

That's right, @wern1129. It's still a top-tier CPU for gaming, but it's always good to be aware of potential drawbacks so you can make an informed decision.
