I've been researching monitors for my new gaming setup and I'm stuck between the Dell Alienware AW3821DW and the LG 38GL950G-B. Can anyone share their experiences with these monitors? Also, has anyone tried using them with VR?

Both are excellent choices for gaming, but they do have some differences. The Dell Alienware AW3821DW is a great monitor with a 37.5-inch screen and high refresh rate of 144Hz, while the LG 38GL950G-B has an even larger 38-inch display. I've been using the AW3821DW for a few months now and it's fantastic. The resolution and color accuracy are top-notch.
I've used both the Dell Alienware AW3821DW and the LG 38GL950G-B, and they're great monitors for gaming. The larger screen of the LG 38GL950G-B is really nice for immersive experiences like VR. As for which one to choose, it depends on your needs. If you prefer a higher refresh rate and are okay with a slightly smaller screen size, go for the AW3821DW. If you need more screen real estate and don't mind sacrificing some refresh rate, then the LG 38GL950G-B is a great option.
I've been using the Dell Alienware AW3821DW for a few weeks now, and it's amazing for gaming! The higher refresh rate really makes a difference in fast-paced games. However, I'm planning to get into VR, so I might upgrade to the LG 38GL950G-B in the future. It seems like a great option for VR.
Thanks for sharing your experiences guys! I was actually looking at the TechReviewer article Dell 37.5" Alienware AW3821DW vs. LG 38" 38GL950G-B for more insights on these monitors. They did an extensive comparison and also discussed their suitability for VR. Based on that, I think I'll go with the LG 38GL950G-B since it seems to be better suited for VR.
Thanks for the link! I'm leaning towards getting the LG 38GL950G-B now as well. Just one last question: does anyone have any experiences with the responsiveness of these monitors when using VR headsets? Is there any lag or issues?
I haven't personally used a VR headset with either monitor, but from what I've read and heard from others, there shouldn't be any significant lag with either the AW3821DW or the LG 38GL950G-B. However, it's always best to check user reviews and experiences specific to using these monitors with VR headsets.
Yeah, I haven't used a VR headset with my AW3821DW yet, but from what I've heard, there shouldn't be any major issues. If you're serious about VR, the LG 38GL950G-B might be a better choice due to its larger screen size and supposed better compatibility with VR headsets.
I can vouch for the LG 38GL950G-B when it comes to VR. I've been using it with my Oculus Quest 2, and there's been no lag or issues at all. The large screen size really enhances the immersion factor.
That's great to hear! I think I'll go ahead and get the LG 38GL950G-B then. Thanks for all the input!
You're welcome! Enjoy your new monitor, and let us know how you like it with VR!
