I recently picked up a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M70x headphones and I'm considering whether or not to get a dedicated amp. Has anyone tried using one with these?

Yes, I used an amp with my ATH-M70x and it made a noticeable difference. The sound quality improved significantly.

I haven't personally used an amp with the M70x, but I heard from someone that they do benefit from a dedicated amp due to their higher impedance.

Thanks for sharing that, @Liolaina. It's good to know that a DAC amp can make a difference with these headphones. I might just have to look into getting one now!

That's great! I'm glad it was helpful. Just make sure you do some research on the DAC amps available before making your decision.

Yeah, @smokey1205, don't forget about the different sound signatures of the various DAC amps. It could be a fun process discovering which one suits your preferences best.

I've been using my ATH-M70x headphones for a while now without an amp and I must say, I'm quite happy with the sound quality even without it. But if you're willing to invest in an amp, it might just enhance your experience further.

That's true, @gabuzgod. It's definitely worth considering if I want to take my listening experience to the next level. Thanks for the advice everyone!
