Corsair H80i V2 & NZXT Kraken X62 for Ryzen 7 2700?

Started by silentoperator42 on May 23, 2024

I'm looking for a CPU cooler for my new Ryzen 7 2700 and was wondering if the Corsair H80i V2 or NZXT Kraken X62 would be better. Has anyone used either of these coolers with this CPU?

Hey @silentoperator42, I've tried both the Corsair H80i V2 and NZXT Kraken X62 on my Ryzen 7 2700. Both coolers offer efficient heat management and maintain optimal temperatures for the CPU. However, I found that air coolers like the NZXT Kraken X62 provide better cooling performance at lower noise levels than AIO liquid coolers like the Corsair H80i V2. The TechReviewer article Choosing the Best CPU Cooler for AMD's Ryzen 7 2700 discusses this in more detail.

I've used the Corsair H80i V2 with my Ryzen 7 2700 and it works great! It's a more budget-friendly option, but still provides good cooling performance.

Solution

Thanks for the input everyone! The article you mentioned, @RemondBall, is really helpful. I'm now leaning towards getting the NZXT Kraken X62 since it seems to provide better cooling performance at a reasonable noise level. However, I'm also worried about the price difference between the two coolers.

That's a good point, @silentoperator42. The NZXT Kraken X62 is more expensive, but you do get better cooling and lower noise levels. If you're comfortable with the higher price, I think it would be worth it in the long run.

I've been using the H80i V2 for a while now and have been quite happy with its performance. It's also more budget-friendly, which is important to me. The noise level isn't ideal, but it's manageable.

@silentoperator42, if you're concerned about the price difference, you might want to check out some user reviews online for both coolers. You can get a better idea of what real users have experienced with each cooler in terms of performance and value for money.

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I'll definitely do some more research on these coolers and read some user reviews before making my decision. Appreciate your help!
