I've been looking at the Intel Core i9-14900F and the Core i5-13400 for my gaming setup, but I'm having trouble deciding which one to get. Anyone have experience with either of them?

I've used both, and I must say that the Core i9-14900F offers better performance overall. It has more cores, threads, L3 cache, single-core turbo frequency, p-core turbo frequency, DDR support, and PCIe support compared to the Intel Core i5-13400.

Intel Core i9-14900F vs. Intel Core i5-13400 This TechReviewer article provides a detailed comparison between the two CPUs. It also mentions that both lack overclocking support. The i9-14900F has a 36 MB L3 cache while the i5-13400 has a 20 MB L3 cache. Both have PCIe 5.0 support.

Thanks for sharing, @raiserino. I didn't realize there was such a big difference in L3 cache size between the two CPUs. How does that affect gaming performance?

The larger L3 cache of the i9-14900F can improve gaming performance by providing more memory bandwidth for your games, which means less waiting on memory access and better overall performance.

I've been using the Core i5-13400 in my PC for a few weeks now. While it's good, I did notice some occasional stuttering during graphically intense games. I wonder if upgrading to the i9-14900F would fix that issue.

That's an interesting point, @LaylaSleep. It sounds like the i9-14900F might be better suited for more demanding games. Do you think the lack of overclocking support is a dealbreaker for you?

Not really, as I've never tried overclocking before. The main concern is just making sure my gaming experience is smooth and enjoyable.
