Cooler for Ryzen 7 1800X While Gaming?

Started by villmann24 on May 27, 2024

I'm building a new computer and need some advice on the best cooler for my Ryzen 7 1800X CPU while gaming. Any recommendations? I don't want to spend too much but still get good performance.

If you're looking to save some money, you could also check out the be quiet! Pure Rock Slim. It's an all-in-one liquid cooler that performs very well for its price point. I've read a great TechReviewer article Is the Ryzen 7 1800X CPU Good for Gaming? discussing different coolers and their performance.

The AMD Ryzen 7 1800X is a powerful processor, so you'll definitely want a high-quality cooler to ensure stable clock speeds during gaming sessions. I would recommend the Noctua NH-D15, it's an excellent air cooler that performs well in our tests and also comes with great fan quality.

I've been using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo for years now and I haven't had any issues. It's affordable and does a good job of keeping my 1800X cool during gaming sessions. Definitely worth considering!

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! The Noctua NH-D15 seems like a solid choice, but it's quite pricey. I'm also wondering if an all-in-one liquid cooler would be worth it or not? What are your thoughts on that?

An all-in-one liquid cooler can be a great option for maintaining stable temperatures, especially under heavy loads. The be quiet! Pure Rock Slim is a good choice in terms of performance and price. However, they can be a bit more complex to install compared to air coolers like the Noctua NH-D15.

I've had experience with both types of coolers, and I personally prefer air coolers for their simplicity and lower noise levels. If you're on a budget or want something that's less intrusive in terms of noise, then an all-in-one liquid cooler could be the way to go.

In my experience, the Noctua NH-D15 is worth its price when it comes to maintaining stable temperatures for gaming. I've used it with my 1800X and never had any temperature issues. Additionally, the fact that it's quieter than most other air coolers on the market is a huge plus in my book.

Thanks again for all the suggestions! I think I'll go ahead and order the Noctua NH-D15. It seems to be the best option based on your experiences.

Great choice, @villmann24! The Noctua NH-D15 is a reliable cooler that will keep your 1800X cool during gaming sessions. Enjoy building your new computer!
