Better RAM for i5-14600: Corsair Vengeance LPX or G.SKILL Ripjaws V?

Started by concernedchipmunk on July 10, 2024

I'm looking to upgrade my i5-14600's RAM. I've been considering the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 MHz and the G.SKILL Ripjaws V. Anyone have any experience with these or recommendations?

I used the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 MHz for a while, but recently upgraded to the G.SKILL Ripjaws V because of its higher clock speed. Haven't had any issues yet!

I've been using the G.SKILL Ripjaws V and it's been performing great with my i5-14600. It has a lot more capacity than what I need, but I'm happy with the speed.

Thanks, @chefcella. The article gives a good overview of each RAM's pros and cons. However, are there any personal experiences or reasons why one would choose over the other? I'm leaning towards the G.SKILL Ripjaws V due to its higher clock speed and capacity, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra cost.

It really depends on your usage patterns. If you're a gamer or do heavy multitasking, the G.SKILL Ripjaws V might be better suited for you because of its higher clock speed. But if you're more into casual gaming and basic tasks, the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 MHz should suffice.

That's true, @Genericseat. I mostly use my computer for browsing, word processing, and some light gaming. The G.SKILL Ripjaws V was worth it for me because of its extra capacity, but YMMV.

One other factor to consider is the heat management of each RAM. The Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 MHz uses high-quality aluminum heatsinks which provide excellent thermal performance. On the other hand, the G.SKILL Ripjaws V also has good heat management but may be a bit noisier due to its cooling solution.

Thanks for all the input, guys! I think I'll do some more research and see if I can find any deals on either of these models. I appreciate your insights!

No problem, @concernedchipmunk. Good luck with your search! Let us know what you decide.

Same here, good luck and happy upgrading!
