Best RAM for Intel Core i3-10100T?

Started by inquegeek on May 15, 2024

I'm looking for the best RAM to pair with my newly purchased Intel Core i3-10100T CPU. Has anyone here had any experience with a good RAM that works well with this CPU? Also, does anyone have recommendations on which RAM would be best for gaming and content creation?

The Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) 3600 MHz DDR4 memory module is an excellent option for overclocking. It has a higher clock speed than the RGB Pro, which might be more suitable for you if you're looking to push your RAM's performance further. I recently got an i3-10100T and used the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) 2666 MHz DDR4 memory module. It's been great so far! The performance upgrade has been noticeable, especially for gaming and content creation. Check out this TechReviewer article Best RAM for the Intel Core i3-10100T CPU to see more details about it.

I'm interested in that Corsair RAM you mentioned, but I also want something with a higher clock speed. Any suggestions on RAM options with better overclocking potential?

@alexfish. I appreciate the suggestion! Just curious, what are the main differences between these two Corsair RAM options aside from the clock speed?

The main difference between the two is their clock speed and latency. The Vengeance LPX has a higher clock speed of 3600 MHz compared to the RGB Pro's 2666 MHz. This means that the LPX will likely offer better performance, especially when it comes to gaming and content creation. However, it also has a higher latency (10 ns vs. 12 ns). The RGB Pro is more energy-conscious with its 1.20 volts voltage compared to the LPX's 1.35 volts.

That makes sense. I might go for the Corsair Vengeance LPX then. By the way, does anyone have experience using DDR5 RAM with the i3-10100T CPU? Is it worth upgrading from DDR4?

The i3-10100T CPU only supports DDR4 memory. Other generations of memory are incompatible. However, if you're considering a future upgrade or building a new system, you might want to consider using DDR5 RAM when compatible CPUs and motherboards become available. DDR5 offers better performance compared to DDR4 in some instances, but it's also more expensive and has limited availability currently.

Great information! everyone. I think I'll start with the Corsair Vengeance LPX based on your recommendations. And if I decide to upgrade my CPU or build a new system in the future, I'll look into DDR5 options. Appreciate all the help!

You're welcome, @inquegeek. Good luck with your RAM selection and future upgrades! If you have any questions later on, feel free to ask.

It's always great to learn from experienced users in these forums. I'll report back once I've installed the new RAM and see how it performs.

Sounds good, @simplygod. Looking forward to hearing your experience with the Corsair Vengeance LPX. Happy gaming and content creating!
