I'm looking to buy a PSU for my new build with an AMD RX 6900 XT GPU. Can you guys recommend the best one?

Hey, the peak power consumption of the AMD RX 6900 XT GPU is around 300 watts. So you might want to look at a PSU in the 750-1650 watt range. You can read more about it in this TechReviewer article Choosing the Best PSU for AMD's Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU.

The Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 Series 80+ Gold Full Modular ATX 3.0 PCIe Gen 5 Power Supply is a great choice for your build! You can find more details in this TechReviewer article Choosing the Best PSU for AMD's Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU.

Thanks, @goodscalp! What wattage range should I be looking at for my RX 6900 XT GPU?

Solution

Thanks for the info, @IAMATrader. I'm building a mid-tier setup, do you think that'll be enough power?

Yeah, 750 watts should be enough for a mid-tier build. But if you want some extra buffer for future upgrades, going with a PSU in the 850-1650 watt range would be safer.

That makes sense, @compasscreative. Thanks for your input! I'll probably go with an 850 watt PSU then.

Sounds like a good plan! And remember to check that the PSU has an 80 PLUS certification and modular cables for better airflow. Good luck with your build!

Will do, thanks everyone!
