I've recently bought an Intel Core i5-12600 processor and I'm looking for the best motherboard to pair with it. Can you guys recommend any good ones? I'm interested in getting a motherboard that supports overclocking as well.
Best Motherboards for Intel Core i5-12600?

The GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS Master is one of the best motherboards for Intel Core i5-12600, especially if you're looking for something that supports overclocking. It's feature-rich and offers excellent performance.
I've been using the GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS Elite AX DDR4 with my 12600 processor, and it works great! It doesn't have overclocking support like the Master, but it still performs well and is more budget-friendly. Check out this TechReviewer article Choosing the Best Motherboard for Intel's Core i5-12600 for a detailed comparison of different motherboards compatible with the i5-12600.
That's really helpful, @goodscalp. Thanks for sharing that link! I was also curious about the DDR4 vs DDR5 memory support in these boards. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Sure, @DefenceDevil, both DDR4 and DDR5 are supported by most of the motherboards in the 600-series and 700-series chipsets. However, DDR5 offers higher data rates, larger capacity DIMMs, and slightly faster transfer speeds compared to DDR4.
I have been using a motherboard with an H670 chipset, and it works fine with my i5-12600 CPU. It doesn't support overclocking like the Z690 chipsets, but it's more affordable and still offers good performance.
@dchambers1191 Thanks for your input! The H670 seems like a solid option if I'm not looking to overclock. By the way, what are some other factors I should consider when choosing a motherboard?
Apart from supporting the i5-12600 and overclocking capabilities, you might want to look into memory overclocking support, video output ports, storage options like M.2 slots and SATA ports, and connectivity such as USB ports and audio.
Great advice, @goodscalp. It seems like there's a lot to consider when choosing the right motherboard for my i5-12600 CPU. Thanks to all of you for your insights!
