Best Monitors: BenQ GW2480 or HP VH240a for Gaming?

I'm trying to decide between the BenQ GW2480 and HP VH240a monitors for gaming. Can anyone recommend which one is better?

@kajsaunicorn The refresh rates of both monitors are 60 Hz, which is not ideal for high-level gaming. If you want smoother gameplay, you should consider getting a monitor with at least a 120 Hz or 165 Hz refresh rate. There's an article on TechReviewer discussing this in detail: BenQ 23.8" GW2480 vs. HP 23.8" VH240a.

The resolution and display panel type of both are similar, but the response time on the BenQ GW2480 is slightly faster.

True, I've tried both, and the GW2480 feels more responsive when playing games like Fortnite and COD. Plus, it has a better color range.

That's interesting! But what about the refresh rate? My friend got a monitor with a higher refresh rate and said it made a big difference in gaming performance.

Solution

@catmantown Thanks for the link! So, it seems like I need to look for a higher refresh rate monitor if I want better gaming performance.

Exactly! Higher refresh rates result in smoother gameplay and less motion blur. If you can afford it, go for a 120 Hz or 165 Hz monitor.

I've used both monitors personally, and while they are decent, I would still recommend checking out the Samsung Odyssey G9 if you want an amazing gaming experience. Its high refresh rate makes a huge difference!

That's good to know! It looks like I'll be looking at higher-end options for my next monitor purchase. Thanks for the advice, everyone.

No problem! Happy gaming!
