I'm looking to build a new gaming PC and am deciding between the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and the Ryzen 5 3600X. Can anyone recommend some good builds for these CPUs?

Yeah, and if you're into streaming or content creation, the Ryzen 7 3700X has more cores which can be really beneficial. Also, check out this TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs. AMD Ryzen 5 3600X for some in-depth comparisons between the two CPUs.

Sure thing! The Ryzen 7 3700X is a beast of a processor, so you'll need a build that can handle its power. I'd suggest going with an RTX 3080 GPU and at least 16GB of RAM. As for the motherboard, I recommend the MSI MPG B550 Gaming Edge WiFi.

For the Ryzen 5 3600X, you could go with something like an RTX 3060 Ti GPU and 8-16GB of RAM depending on your budget. The ASUS TUF Gaming Z490-Plus is a great motherboard option for this CPU.

Solution

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm more of a casual gamer, so I think the Ryzen 5 3600X might suit me better. How important is it to have 16GB of RAM?

It really depends on your usage. For gaming, 8GB of RAM should be enough, but if you plan on multitasking or working with large files, then 16GB would be preferable.

Yeah, and remember that the more cores a CPU has, the more applications you can run simultaneously without noticing a performance impact.

Alright, thanks again. I'll take your advice into consideration!
