I'm looking at getting a new motherboard and was wondering if the B450 would be compatible with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU? I've heard mixed things.

Hi @TrveBlvck, yes, the B450 chipset is compatible with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. You can find more information in this TechReviewer article Which Chipsets Work With AMD's Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU?.
That's great to hear! Thanks for the info @Coopdaddy07. How do you think it compares to the X570 chipset?
Well, I've been using a B450 board with my Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU and it works perfectly fine. The only downside is that you won't be able to fully utilize PCIe 4.0 speeds for all your slots.
That's true @MagicMau5. If you want full PCIe 4.0 support, then the X570 chipset would be a better option. However, if you're on a budget and don't need all those extra features, B450 is still a good choice.
I've been using an X570 board with my Ryzen 7 5800X3D for a while now and I must say the performance difference is noticeable. Especially when it comes to gaming and streaming in 4K.
Wow, that's impressive @lillydo0808. Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems like the X570 might be worth the extra cost after all!
Absolutely @TrveBlvck, you won't regret it if you go with the X570. The additional features and PCIe 4.0 support make a huge difference in overall performance.
Yeah, I agree with both of you @TrveBlvck and @MagicMau5. If you can afford it, going with the X570 is definitely worth considering. But if not, the B450 will still serve you well.
I've been using a B450 board for a while now and it's been great! The performance has been consistent and there haven't been any issues so far. Plus, it's more budget-friendly than the X570.
Thanks everyone for your input. It really helps to hear from people who have experience with these chipsets. I'll definitely be doing some more research before making a decision.
