I've been looking at getting a new monitor and came across the Asus VG27AQ1A and LG 27GL850-B. Can you help me decide which one is better? I'm mainly interested in picture quality.
Asus VG27AQ1A vs LG 27GL850-B: Better Picture Quality?
Started by quickquestion12 on June 22, 2024
Both monitors have great picture quality due to their IPS panels, but the LG 27GL850-B has a slightly higher color coverage at 98% DCI-P3 compared to the Asus VG27AQ1A's 96% DCI-P3. However, I've been using the Asus monitor for a few months now and I'm really happy with its performance. The Asus 27" VG27AQ1A vs. LG 27" 27GL850-B offers an in-depth comparison that might help you make your decision.
Thanks for sharing, @brave-new. I recently switched to the LG 27GL850-B, and I must say, the colors are indeed stunning! I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I'm really enjoying the vibrant visuals. It's also great that both of these monitors have super-fast response times of just 1 ms, which is fantastic for gaming.
That's good to know, @kevinkrump. So, in terms of refresh rates, what can you tell me? The Asus monitor has a 170 Hz rate, while the LG one has a 144 Hz rate. Does that make much of a difference when it comes to gaming?
I've been using both monitors, and I must say that even though the Asus VG27AQ1A has a higher refresh rate, I personally didn't notice any significant difference in my gaming experience compared to the LG 27GL850-B. The 144 Hz refresh rate on the LG monitor was more than enough for me.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, everyone. So it seems like both monitors are great choices and have their own advantages. I think I'll go with the Asus 27" VG27AQ1A vs. LG 27" 27GL850-B mentioned earlier to read more about these two monitors and make a final decision.
Good luck with your decision, @quickquestion12. Remember that personal preferences play a big role in choosing the right monitor for you. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions!
