Asus ProArt PA279CV vs. BenQ PD2700U - Gaming Comparison?

Started by Perfectgaia on May 03, 2024

I'm looking for a new monitor and I'm trying to decide between the Asus ProArt PA279CV and BenQ PD2700U. Does anyone have experience with these monitors specifically for gaming?

I've been using the Asus ProArt PA279CV for a while now, mainly for gaming. The response time is quite good at 5ms and it has a high resolution. However, the refresh rate is only 60Hz which might not be enough for some gamers. The Asus 27" ProArt PA279CV vs. BenQ 27" PD2700U provides more in-depth information if you're interested.

I've used both of those monitors, but I mostly use them for design work rather than gaming. They both have great color accuracy and resolution.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I did read that about the 60Hz refresh rate. Is it noticeable when gaming or was it just a specification on paper?

I personally didn't notice it too much, but I know some friends who are more into competitive gaming found the 60Hz to be limiting. They prefer monitors with at least 120Hz for smoother gameplay.

That's good to hear. I'm not a competitive gamer, so hopefully, I won't have issues with the 60Hz refresh rate on the Asus ProArt PA279CV?

I think it really depends on your gaming habits and preferences. If you're mostly playing less intense games or doing more design work, then you probably won't notice the lower refresh rate.

That's true. I'm more into casual gaming and graphic design so maybe this monitor will be suitable for me?

I've been using the BenQ PD2700U and it has been serving me well for both gaming and work. The color accuracy is fantastic, similar to what you'd expect from a pro-level monitor. However, like the Asus, its refresh rate is also 60Hz.

It sounds like both of these monitors have their pros and cons, but they're quite similar in terms of specs for gaming purposes. Do you think one is better than the other for general use?

I'd say it depends on your personal preferences and budget. If color accuracy is more important to you, then maybe lean towards the BenQ PD2700U. If you want a larger screen size or higher resolution, then go for the Asus ProArt PA279CV.

That makes sense. I'll think about it some more before making my decision. Thanks everyone for your input!
