Asus ProArt PA278QV vs BenQ PD2700Q: Which Is Better for Gamers?

Started by JadedYoda on June 14, 2024

I'm currently deciding between the Asus ProArt PA278QV and BenQ PD2700Q. Can anyone tell me which one would be better for gaming? I heard that response time and refresh rate are important factors.

@James3703 That's true, but you might want to check out TechReviewer's article Asus 27" ProArt PA278QV vs. BenQ 27" PD2700Q. They did a comprehensive comparison of these two monitors and found the Asus ProArt PA278QV to be better overall for gaming. It has a wider viewing angle, which can be beneficial when playing multiplayer games or streaming.

@JadedYoda The Asus ProArt PA278QV has a 75 Hz refresh rate, while the BenQ PD2700Q has a 60 Hz refresh rate. So, if I had to pick one based on refresh rate alone, I'd go with the PA278QV.

@JadedYoda It's not just about the refresh rate though. Response time also plays a significant role in gaming performance. The BenQ PD2700Q has a 4 ms response time compared to the PA278QV's 5 ms response time, making it slightly better in this aspect.

@KadenReed Thanks for the input. I was also wondering about color accuracy. Both monitors have 100% SRGB color capability, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Solution

@Starshin3 Interesting, I didn't know about that article. Thanks for sharing. But what about the response time? Isn't it more important than the refresh rate?

@JadedYoda It depends on your personal preferences and the type of games you play. For example, first-person shooters might benefit more from a higher refresh rate, while strategy games might not require as much responsiveness.

@JadedYoda I've had both monitors, and I can tell you that the Asus ProArt PA278QV provides an overall better gaming experience due to its wider viewing angle and slightly better build quality. The 75 Hz refresh rate also makes a noticeable difference in fast-paced games.

@KadenReed That's good to know. Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I think I'll go with the PA278QV then.

@James3703 No problem, happy gaming! And remember, there's always room for personal preference in these things. Good luck with your choice!
