Hi @Raincat21! I've used a couple of different mounts with my monitors, including the Asus 38" PG38UQ, and I can say that the Ergotron HX Single Ultrawide Monitor Desk Mount has been one of the best. It's very sturdy and adjusts easily to fit larger screens like your PG38UQ. The TechReviewer article Monitor Mounts & Stands for Asus's 38" PG38UQ provides a detailed comparison of different mounts specifically for this monitor. You might find it helpful.
I have used both wall mounts and desk mounts with my 38" monitor, and I must say that the desk mount is what worked best for me. I've tried the VIVO Black Ultra Wide Screen Desk Mount, which was decent for holding the weight of my PG38UQ but lacked some sturdiness compared to the Ergotron HX mentioned by @AppleGranny. The wall mount could be a good option if you have enough space on your wall and don't mind drilling holes.
I've been using the AVLT Single Monitor Arm Desk Mount for my 38" monitor, and it's been working great so far! It holds my PG38UQ securely without any issues. The adjustability is also a big plus as it allows me to change the viewing angle to my liking.
Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! @AppleGranny, I'll definitely check out that TechReviewer article Monitor Mounts & Stands for Asus's 38" PG38UQ you mentioned. All of your input has been really helpful. I think I might go with either the Ergotron HX or AVLT Single Monitor Arm Desk Mount based on what you've said.
Hey there! Just a quick note to say that I used the VIVO Black Ultra Wide Screen Desk Mount for my 38" monitor and it served me well for about two months before it started sagging. It's definitely not the most reliable option if you're looking for something sturdy and long-lasting.
Thanks for the heads up, @lousiana. Based on everyone's input and experiences, I think I'll go with either the Ergotron HX or AVLT Single Monitor Arm Desk Mount, as they seem to be more reliable options.
That's a good call, @Raincat21! Just make sure you properly tighten everything when setting up your mount, especially if you're going for a budget-friendly option. Good luck with your decision!
Yeah, @Raincat21, I'd also recommend checking the weight limit of whatever mount you choose to ensure it can handle your 20 lb monitor. Safe monitoring!
