Arc A380 With 450W PSU OK?

Started by tobikenobi on July 10, 2024

I've been looking into building a PC and was wondering if using a 450W PSU would be sufficient for an Intel Arc A380 GPU. Anyone have experience with this setup?

Yeah, I've been using an Arc A380 GPU with a 450W PSU for quite some time now, and I haven't faced any issues yet. However, it's always better to have a bit more headroom. That's a good question, @tobikenobi. The Arc A380 has a peak power consumption of 75 W. So, in theory, a 450W PSU should be enough if you don't plan on adding any other high-power components.

Thanks for the input, guys! I was also considering a 550W PSU. Do you think that would be overkill?

It depends on your future upgrades and components. If you're planning to add more powerful components or overclock, having a higher wattage PSU could be beneficial. It's always better to err on the side of caution.

Good point, @coldblow85. I'll probably go for the 550W PSU then. Thanks again!

No problem, @tobikenobi! Happy building!
