Hi @Kernsypuff, I've used both the Ryzen 9 7900X and the Core i5-12600, and in my opinion, the Ryzen 9 7900X performs better overall. I was particularly impressed by its 12-core count and the 5.6 GHz single-core max boost frequency. The article AMD Ryzen 9 7900X vs. Intel Core i5-12600 provides a detailed comparison of these two CPUs.
That's interesting @DamionYoung. I've been using an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X for a couple of months now, and I must say that I'm pretty satisfied with its performance. The fact that it has better support for PCIe 5.0 is definitely a plus point.
Thanks @baboon29, those are helpful insights. Just out of curiosity, what kind of games have you been playing on the Ryzen 9 7900X? I'm mostly interested in shooters and RPGs.
Hey @Kernsypuff, I've played a mix of FPS, RTS, and RPG titles on my Ryzen 9 7900X without any issues. The CPU handled everything smoothly, even at ultra settings in some games.
I'm thinking of getting the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X for video editing tasks. What's your experience with it for that kind of work?
@zoulkyud For video editing, the Ryzen 9 7900X is great! I noticed a significant improvement in rendering times compared to my previous CPU. The 64 MB L3 cache and overclocking support definitely make a difference.
That's good to know @baboon29. I might just go for the Ryzen 9 7900X then. Thanks for all your input, guys!
