I've been looking at the AMD Ryzen 9 7900 and the Intel Core i9-11900KF for my next build, but I'm having trouble deciding which one is better for video editing. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
AMD Ryzen 9 7900 vs. Intel Core i9-11900KF Performance Comparison?

I think it depends on what you value more in a CPU. The Ryzen 9 7900 has a higher core count and larger L3 cache, while the Core i9-11900KF has a slightly lower base frequency but a higher Turbo frequency. Both CPUs offer excellent overclocking support.
I've done some research on this topic, and I found a TechReviewer article that compares these two CPUs in-depth AMD Ryzen 9 7900 vs. Intel Core i9-11900KF. It might help you make an informed decision. Basically, the Ryzen 9 7900 outperforms the Core i9-11900KF in video editing due to its higher core count, larger L3 cache, and support for PCIe 5.0.
Thanks for sharing that link @lillydo0808. So, based on this article, would you say that the Ryzen 9 7900 is definitely the better choice for video editing?
I'd say it's a close call, but if I had to choose, I'd go with the Ryzen 9 7900. The higher core count and larger L3 cache can make a big difference in video editing performance.
Just chiming in real quick. I've used both CPUs for video editing personally, and I must say that they're both great choices. It really depends on your specific needs. If you have a large number of high-resolution videos to edit or require fast rendering times, the Ryzen 9 7900 might be the better choice. On the other hand, if you're mostly working with smaller projects or don't need the extra power, the Core i9-11900KF could be sufficient.
That's true @AnonomouslyHere. It really depends on your individual requirements and budget. Both CPUs are excellent choices for video editing, but the Ryzen 9 7900 offers better performance in some scenarios due to its superior specs.
@tater2428 and @AnonomouslyHere, thanks for your insights! I appreciate it. Based on everything you've said, I think I'll go with the Ryzen 9 7900 for my build. Now all I need is a good GPU to pair with it!
No problem @Tippybates. I'm sure you'll be happy with the Ryzen 9 7900 for your video editing needs. Good luck with your build!
