Thanks for the input, @melonhead316. The higher turbo frequency of the i5-12400 is interesting. However, I'm still leaning towards the 5900X due to its additional cores and better overall performance according to the TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 9 5900X vs. Intel Core i5-12400.

Sure! The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X vs. Intel Core i5-12400 TechReviewer article compares these two CPUs in detail. From what I remember, the Ryzen 9 5900X has more cores and higher base and boost frequencies, which should be great for content creation.

Yeah, I'm using a 5900X for my content creation stuff and it's been working pretty well so far. The extra cores really help when editing videos or running multiple instances of Adobe Premiere.

Thanks @Lizzard81! And thank you for the article link. It looks like the 5900X might be a better fit, considering my needs. Do you have any experience with the i5-12400?

I recently got an i5-12400 and it's been serving me well for content creation tasks. While it doesn't have as many cores as the 5900X, it has a higher turbo frequency and supports DDR5, which can be beneficial when working with large files or running resource-intensive applications.

That's a good point, @away1011. Cores are really important for content creation tasks like video editing or rendering. But it ultimately comes down to your specific needs and budget.

I think I'll go with the 5900X based on your suggestions and that TechReviewer article. It seems better suited for my requirements, especially in terms of core count and performance. Appreciate the help!

No problem, @away1011. Best of luck with your new setup! Just remember to keep an eye on updates from both AMD and Intel as they may release new CPUs that could be a better fit for you down the line.
