I'm currently trying to decide between the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT and the Intel Core i9-9900K for my new gaming PC build. I've heard great things about both of them, but I'm unsure which one would be better for gaming. Has anyone here used either of these processors? Any advice would help!
AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT vs Intel Core i9-9900K - Better for Gaming?

Hey @yusketamura, both the Ryzen 9 3900XT and Core i9-9900K are excellent choices for gaming! I personally have the Ryzen 9 3900XT, and I've been really happy with its performance. The higher core count and PCIe 4.0 support make it a great choice for multi-tasking and future-proofing your build.
Hi @yusketamura, I used both of these CPUs in my gaming PC. I'd say the Intel Core i9-9900K has a slight edge in single-threaded tasks, but if you're looking for more cores for multitasking or future updates to games that take advantage of more cores, go for the Ryzen 9 3900XT. Both are good choices though!
Hey @yusketamura, I've been using the Ryzen 9 3900XT in my gaming rig and it performs amazingly well! If you're looking for a CPU with excellent overclocking potential and PCIe 4.0 support, go for the 3900XT. Plus, TechReviewer has an article about these two CPUs which is really helpful: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT vs. Intel Core i9-9900K
The Ryzen 9 3900XT does have more cores, which can be beneficial for games that utilize multiple cores. However, if you're mostly playing single-threaded games or don't plan on updating your PC for a while, the Core i9-9900K might be enough for you.
Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences! @Akalegend, @kerumeru, and @GrayAsWinterRain - I did some more research after reading the TechReviewer article @GrayAsWinterRain mentioned. It seems like the Ryzen 9 3900XT has better overclocking potential, which is important to me since I want to push my system as far as possible. Does anyone have experience with overclocking either of these CPUs?
Yes, both the 3900XT and the 9900K can be overclocked quite well, but the 3900XT seems to offer a bit more headroom for higher clock speeds. I've been able to push my 3900XT to around 4.4 GHz on all cores with some mild undervolting, while my 9900K only reached about 4.3 GHz stable.
Wow, that's really interesting! Thanks @kerumeru for sharing your experience. I think I'll go with the Ryzen 9 3900XT then, as it seems to have better overclocking potential and more future-proofing capabilities due to its higher core count and PCIe 4.0 support.
That's a great choice, @yusketamura! The 3900XT should serve you well for years to come with its overclocking potential and compatibility with the latest hardware. Just make sure you have a good cooling solution to keep it cool under load!
Good call, @yusketamura! I hope you enjoy your new Ryzen 9 3900XT-powered rig. It's going to be a beast for gaming and multitasking!
Agreed, @yusketamura, the 3900XT is an excellent choice for a gaming PC. The TechReviewer article really helped me make my decision when I was choosing between the two CPUs as well.
I'm glad you all found it helpful! Good luck with your build, @yusketamura. And remember, whether you choose the 3900XT or the 9900K, both are great choices for a gaming PC. Happy building and gaming!
