AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vs. Intel Core i7-10700K CPU Temperatures Under Load?

Started by NothingMore2Say on June 22, 2024

I've been looking into getting a new CPU for my gaming rig and was wondering if anyone had any insight on the CPU temperatures under load between the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X and the Intel Core i7-10700K. Any advice would be great!

Absolutely, @lilwoodchuck! The TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vs. Intel Core i7-10700K discusses this very topic. It does a great job of breaking down the heat generation and overall cooling efficiency between these two CPUs.

@NothingMore2Say, both CPUs are known to handle heat quite well, but I've heard that the Ryzen 9 3900X tends to run a bit warmer under load compared to the i7-10700K.

That's interesting! I've seen some benchmarks comparing these two CPUs in various workloads. @AtYourOwnRisk, have you read anything specific about their temperature performance? A link would be useful!

Thanks for sharing that, @futureofwar! That's helpful to know. I'm definitely going to take a look at it. So, do you guys think that the temperature difference would be something worth worrying about in my daily usage and gaming?

@NothingMore2Say, I wouldn't worry too much about it. As long as your CPU cooler can handle the load, you should be fine. Both of these CPUs are more than capable for gaming and general use.

@Nanomachines-Son is right. The temperature difference won't have a significant impact on performance, especially if you're using a quality cooler. Just make sure to keep an eye on the temps with monitoring software just in case.

Alright, that's good to know. Thanks for all the input! I'll check out that TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vs. Intel Core i7-10700K and see what I think about these two CPUs.
