AMD Ryzen 7 7700X vs. Intel Core i9-12900F Performance?

Started by CaptainObvious92 on June 21, 2024

I'm looking at getting a new CPU for my gaming PC and am torn between the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X and Intel Core i9-12900F. Has anyone here had experience with either of these? Any advice would be great!

I recently upgraded to the Intel Core i9-12900F and have been impressed with its performance in gaming and general apps. The 16-core design allows for better multitasking, which is great when working on multiple projects at once. @jonnybravo76 mentioned a TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 7700X vs. Intel Core i9-12900F, so make sure to check it out for more detailed comparisons.

I've been using the Ryzen 7 7700X for a while now, and it's performed really well in my gaming setup! There's a good article on TechReviewer that provides an overview of both CPUs AMD Ryzen 7 7700X vs. Intel Core i9-12900F. Check it out if you're interested.

Thanks, @jonnybravo76! I'll definitely take a look at the article. The 7700X sounds like a solid choice for gaming with its high single-core boost frequency and good core count.

I've worked with both of these CPUs in professional settings, and they're both excellent choices for general app performance. The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X has less cores but higher clock speeds, while the Intel Core i9-12900F has more cores and a lower base frequency. It really depends on your specific needs and budget.

Solution

I'm leaning towards the Ryzen 7 7700X based on the single-core boost frequency and gaming performance. However, I might reconsider if multitasking becomes more important in my workflow. Thanks everyone for sharing their experiences!

Yeah, it's great to hear from those who have used both CPUs. I'll keep that in mind, @cocoabeachbrews. The TechReviewer article really helped clarify some things for me.
