I recently purchased the Acer XG3 monitor and am now looking for a compatible CPU. I want something that can handle gaming as well as provide excellent performance for general applications. Can anyone recommend an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 or Intel Core i9-12900KF? What are the differences between these two CPUs, and which one is better for gaming?

@SovereignZero Thanks for sharing the link! From what I've read so far, it seems that both CPUs are quite similar in terms of their gaming capabilities. However, I'm still unsure whether having more cores would be beneficial for my Acer XG3 monitor setup.

That's true, most modern games don't benefit significantly from having more than 6-8 cores. So, if your primary focus is gaming and you have a good GPU, the Ryzen 7 7700 should serve you well with its higher single-core boost frequency.

I recently upgraded to the Acer XG3 monitor as well, and I went for the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 because of its better value-for-money ratio. The performance difference is negligible in most games, but having a few extra cores can be useful for multitasking or running resource-intensive software.
