AMD Ryzen 7 7700 vs. Intel Core i7-13700K Overclock Potential?

Started by eeveenicks on July 11, 2024

I've been looking into a new CPU for my PC build and came across the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 and Intel Core i7-13700K. Any advice on which one to choose? I'm more of a gamer, but also do some video editing.

I've used the Ryzen 7 7700 for video editing and found that it performs quite well. You can check out a more detailed review in this TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 7700 vs. Intel Core i7-13700K. It's not just about the raw power of the CPU, but also how well it scales with multiple cores.

Both are great options! However, if you're mainly into gaming, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 vs. Intel Core i7-13700K suggests that the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 might be the better choice due to its impressive single-core max boost frequency and overall performance. That being said, I've been happy with my Intel Core i7-13700K for both gaming and video editing.

Thanks for your input, @ignatiousp. The Ryzen 7 7700 sounds interesting. But how do you think it would handle video editing tasks?

That's good to know, @TheRealMonk. I didn't realize the Ryzen 7 7700 had such great potential for video editing. Thanks for sharing that link!

I've been using an Intel Core i7-13700K for a few months now and it's been working fine for me. I haven't encountered any bottlenecks in gaming or video editing. Both CPUs are capable of excellent performance, so it ultimately depends on your personal preferences and budget.

Thanks, @MythikiX. The more input I get, the better! It seems like both have their advantages and disadvantages. I guess I'll have to do some more research and weigh my options.

No problem, @eeveenicks! Just remember that personal preferences play a big role in choosing the right CPU for you. Make sure to read up on user reviews and check out any available benchmarks before making your decision.

You're right, @ignatiousp. I'll definitely do some more research and check out user reviews. Thanks again for all the advice!
