Any advice on the best processor for video editing? I've been looking at either the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 or the Intel Core i7-11700KF.
AMD Ryzen 7 7700 vs. Intel Core i7-11700KF for Video Editing?

Both processors are great options for video editing. The Ryzen 7 7700 has a higher max boost frequency and supports DDR5, while the i7-11700KF supports DDR4 with a max stock speed of 3200 MHz. What do you think is more important for video editing - higher memory speeds or higher frequencies?
The TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 7700 vs. Intel Core i7-11700KF discusses in detail how these processors compare when it comes to video editing. It could help you make an informed decision.
@Livinglifelite. I'll check out the TechReviewer article. How important is overclocking for video editing? Does it significantly improve performance?
Overclocking can provide a performance boost, but it also increases power consumption and heat generation. For most video editing tasks, the base performance of these processors should be sufficient.
I recently upgraded to the Ryzen 7 7700 for my video editing work and I'm really happy with the performance. The higher max boost frequency makes a noticeable difference in rendering times.
@ranmah76 That's good to hear! I might just go for the Ryzen 7 7700 then. Thanks everyone for your input!
No problem, @beholderzim. Just remember that hardware choices can be very personal and dependent on your specific needs. Good luck with your decision!
Exactly, @beholderzim. And don't forget to check out the TechReviewer article I mentioned earlier for a more detailed comparison between the two processors. Good luck!
