AMD Ryzen 7 7700 vs. Intel Core i7-11700F Multi-Threading?

Started by DarklordRazor on May 12, 2024

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I need to choose between the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 and the Intel Core i7-11700F for my new PC build, but I can't decide which one is better for multi-threading. Can anyone help me out with some insights?

Just make sure you have a good cooling solution in place, and you should be fine. By the way, @DarklordRazor, I came across another TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 7700 vs. Intel Core i7-11700F that talks about overclocking capabilities of these processors. You might want to check it out as well.

I've been looking into these processors as well. I came across a TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 7700 vs. Intel Core i7-11700F that compares the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 and Intel Core i7-11700F in terms of their multi-threading capabilities. It might be helpful for you to check it out.

@Camick17. I'll definitely take a look at that article. So, based on your experience or knowledge, which one do you think is better for multi-threading?

I've used both the Ryzen 7 7700 and Core i7-11700F in my builds, and I must say that the Ryzen 7 7700 has a clear advantage when it comes to multi-threading. It just handles multiple tasks more efficiently.

That's good to know, @blondeinboise. So does that mean the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 is better for things like video editing, 3D rendering, and other CPU-intensive tasks?

I'd say yes to that. The Ryzen 7 7700 has a higher base frequency and better support for DDR5 memory, which can make it more efficient in handling multi-threaded applications.

Interesting. So if I'm mainly doing video editing or 3D rendering, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 might be the way to go? I just hope it won't produce too much heat!

@DarklordRazor It shouldn't be a problem for the 7700. It's designed to handle high-performance tasks without overheating.

Solution

Thanks for all the input, everyone! I'll definitely read up on those articles and see if the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 is the right choice for me. Appreciate your help!
