AMD Ryzen 7 5800 vs Intel Core i9-10900K: Buy Which?

Started by FrianBantana on May 05, 2024

I've been trying to decide between the AMD Ryzen 7 5800 and Intel Core i9-10900K for my new build. Can anyone share their thoughts on which one is better for gaming and general apps? I've heard a lot about these two CPUs but can't make up my mind.

That makes sense! Color accuracy and cable management are important factors to consider. I'll definitely check out the TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 5800 vs. Intel Core i9-10900K that @linkebungu mentioned before making a decision.

Both are great choices, but they have some key differences that might help you decide. The Ryzen 7 5800 has an excellent PCIe support (PCIe 4.0) which is really good for faster SSDs and graphics cards, while the Core i9-10900K has a higher base frequency and single-core max turbo boost frequency.

@FrianBantana, I've been using both CPUs in my build, and they're both fantastic! The Ryzen 7 5800 has PCIe 4.0 support which is excellent for faster SSDs and graphics cards. Thanks for sharing your experience, @linkebungu! The PCIe 4.0 support on the Ryzen 7 5800 sounds really appealing. I'm also considering the size of my desk - it's quite small, so a smaller monitor might be better. What about the color accuracy and the IPS panel on the LG?

If you're looking for a smaller screen, the LG may be a better choice because of its size. As for color accuracy, the LG's IPS panel is great, especially for games like Cyberpunk 2077. It also has better cable management compared to the VIVO.

Solution

Just wanted to chime in real quick. If you're worried about color accuracy, the LG 38GL950G-B also has a higher resolution than the Samsung Odyssey G9, which might be important for visually rich games. Plus, it's smaller, so it'll fit better on your small desk.

That's good to know! The higher resolution and smaller size of the LG make it sound even more appealing. I think I'll look into both options a bit more before making my final decision. Thanks for all the advice!

No problem, @FrianBantana! It's always good to explore your options before making such an important purchase. Good luck with your decision-making process!

Yeah, take your time and make sure you're happy with whatever choice you make. Remember, it's your build after all!
