I'm currently deciding between the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X and the Intel Core i9-9900K for my new build. Can anyone share some insights?
AMD Ryzen 7 5700X vs Intel Core i9-9900K?

Yeah, both are great CPUs but I'd go with the 5700X if you're looking to future-proof your system a bit more. The PCIe support is a big plus! AMD Ryzen 7 5700X vs. Intel Core i9-9900K
That's interesting, thanks for sharing! So you think the PCIe support on the 5700X would make it better for upgrades and such?
Yeah, that's exactly my point. I've used both, and while they're close in performance, the 5700X has more cache capacity which helps with multitasking and running resource-intensive applications. Plus, as @stevebconnect mentioned, the PCIe support is a huge advantage for future upgrades.
I'm leaning towards the Core i9-9900K though, because of its higher base frequency and single-core boost frequency. Those seem more appealing to me for gaming and heavy multitasking.
To add to what @KaffeeNoire said, another advantage of the 5700X is that it has better DDR4 support with a max stock speed of 3200 MHz compared to the 9900K's 2666 MHz. This could lead to faster data transfer rates and improved performance for memory-intensive tasks.
That's good to know, but I'm still a bit torn between the two. Any other factors I should consider?
Just one more thing to think about: overclocking capabilities. Both CPUs allow for some degree of overclocking, but the 9900K has been known to hit higher turbo frequencies in some cases. That could make a difference if you're looking to squeeze out every bit of performance.
Good point! I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks everyone for your input.
Thanks all, I appreciate the advice! I think I need more time to weigh my options and do some more research. Have a great day!
