AMD Ryzen 7 5700G vs. Intel Core i5-11500 Performance

Started by VianoTheGreat on May 02, 2024

I've been looking at the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G and Intel Core i5-11500 for my next build, but I'm having trouble deciding which one is better for gaming and general app performance. Has anyone here tried both or have any recommendations?

It sounds like it's going to come down to personal preferences and specific use cases then. I'll definitely check out the TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 5700G vs. Intel Core i5-11500 you mentioned earlier to see if that helps me make a decision.

I've used the Ryzen 7 5700G before and it performed really well in gaming. The higher core count and base frequency gave me a smooth experience.

That's interesting. Have you checked out TechReviewer's article comparing these two processors? It might give us some insights: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G vs. Intel Core i5-11500.

Thanks for the suggestion, @Psycomedian! I'll definitely take a look at that article. How do you feel about the Intel Core i5-11500?

Well, I haven't used it personally, but from what I've read, the Ryzen 7 5700G offers better performance overall due to its higher core count and larger L3 cache size.

I've worked with both processors in different projects. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is definitely more suitable for content creation and video editing tasks because of its higher core count.

That's good to know, @Statolith and @booksandbloggin. So it seems like the Ryzen 7 5700G has an edge over the Intel Core i5-11500, especially when it comes to multitasking and content creation. But what about gaming performance?

To be honest, both processors are capable of delivering good gaming performance. However, the Ryzen 7 5700G's higher single-core max boost frequency might give it an edge in some games that demand more from the CPU.

True, @Psycomedian. But the Intel Core i5-11500 has a slightly higher turbo frequency and better color accuracy on its IPS panel, which can be beneficial for certain types of games like Cyberpunk 2077.

Solution

Absolutely, @VianoTheGreat. Take your time in deciding. Remember, both processors are still great choices for most users.

Yeah, and don't forget about the importance of a high-performance CPU cooler for maintaining stable frequencies during intense tasks!

Good point, @Statolith! Thanks everyone for sharing their experiences with these processors. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see if anyone else has any insights.

Thanks again, all! I appreciate the advice and information. I'll go through some more research and hopefully make a decision soon.
