I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and wondering if the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G or the Intel Core i5-11400F would be better for video editing. Any recommendations?

I've been using the Core i5-11400F and it works fine for basic video editing tasks but it does feel a bit limited compared to my friend's 5700G setup. Might be worth checking out AMD Ryzen 7 5700G vs. Intel Core i5-11400F for some more detailed comparisons.

Yeah, I've been using the 5700G for a while now and it's been great! AMD Ryzen 7 5700G vs. Intel Core i5-11400F has a pretty good overview of both CPUs.

The 5700G definitely has an edge in video editing due to its higher core count (8) and base frequency (3.8 GHz). Also, it has better DDR4 support with a max stock speed of 3200 MHz.

Interesting! So it sounds like the Ryzen 7 5700G is the better choice for my needs.

I agree with @Laststraw2017. The additional cores and higher base frequency should give you better performance in video editing. Plus, you can also overclock it for even more power.

Thanks for sharing your experience, @wakeupsir. I'll definitely check out that link. Any thoughts on overclocking capabilities?

The 11400F doesn't support overclocking, which might limit its potential in video editing if you're looking to push performance further.

Yeah, overclocking is a nice feature to have when you want more power for demanding tasks like video editing. @wakeupsir and I both didn't notice any major issues with the 5700G without it though.

That's good to know. I'll probably go with the Ryzen 7 5700G based on these suggestions.
