AMD Ryzen 7 3800X vs. Ryzen 7 1700 for Multitasking?

I've been considering getting a new CPU and came across the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X and Ryzen 7 1700. Can anyone give me some insight into which one would be better for multitasking?
