If I remember correctly from the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X vs. Intel Core i9-10900K article, the 3800X's impressive L3 cache helps improve its overall performance, but it doesn't necessarily translate into a significant advantage in single-core benchmarks.

That's a tough choice! Both CPUs are great for gaming, but I personally think the 3800X has a slight edge due to its impressive L3 cache and PCIe 4.0 support.

Thanks @maek0815. And thanks for the link, @BrandonPozo. The TechReviewer article really does provide useful insights into both processors' performance. I'm still unsure though, can anyone comment on their personal experiences with either of these CPUs in gaming?

I've used both the 3800X and 10900K, and my experience has been that they're pretty neck-and-neck in most games. However, I did notice a slight performance boost with the 10900K in certain titles that utilize multiple cores effectively.

That's interesting, @audiodelic536. I guess it depends on the specific use case then. But what about single-core performance? I'm assuming the higher frequency of the 10900K might give it an edge there?

@capersiste, you're right about that. The 10900K does have a higher single-core boost frequency, which can make a difference in certain game titles or applications that can utilize multiple cores effectively.

Solution

Got it. So it seems like both CPUs have their advantages and disadvantages. It really comes down to personal preferences, budget, and specific use case requirements, huh?

Exactly, @capersiste. Ultimately, you'll want to choose the CPU that best aligns with your needs and is within your budget.

Good luck deciding! Remember, both CPUs are still excellent choices for gaming. Whichever one you end up going with, I'm sure you'll enjoy great performance.

@BrandonPozo I'll definitely take everything into account before making my decision. Thanks everyone for the helpful advice!
