Has anyone tried using the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X for multitasking? I'm considering it for some heavy multitasking tasks.
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X vs. Intel Core i7-11700 in Multitasking?

Yeah, I've been using it for a few weeks now and it works great! Multitasking isn't an issue at all. There's a good article with an overview of it at AMD Ryzen 7 3800X vs. Intel Core i7-11700.
That's great to hear! How about the Intel Core i7-11700? Is it as good as the 3800X for multitasking?
I've been using the Core i7-11700 and it handles multitasking well, but I have to say that the Ryzen 7 3800X seems to outperform it in my experience. The larger cache size definitely makes a difference.
Interesting! So it sounds like the 3800X is better for multitasking due to its cache size. Thanks for sharing your experiences, everyone!
Yeah, and don't forget about the support for DDR4 with a max stock speed of 3200 MHz on both CPUs, which can also contribute to good performance.
Right, but I heard that the 11700 has a slightly higher single-core turbo frequency at 4.90 GHz compared to the 3800X's 4.5 GHz. Does this make up for the difference in cache size?
The cache size seems to be the key factor here, at least from my experience. I haven't noticed any significant impact from the slightly higher single-core turbo frequency on the 11700.
Thanks for all the input! I think I'll go with the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X based on your experiences and the TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 7 3800X vs. Intel Core i7-11700 you mentioned.
