I've been researching these CPUs for a while and I'm having trouble deciding which one to buy. Has anyone here used the 3700X or the i7-11700? Any advice would be great!

I've been using the Ryzen 7 3700X for a couple of months now, and it's been working fantastic! I built my own PC, so I had to do some research as well. The AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs. Intel Core i7-11700 provides a pretty good overview of both CPUs.
Thanks, @Mitch1008. I'm mostly curious about the gaming performance differences between these two. How has your experience been with the 3700X in games?
I've used both and have to say that the Ryzen 7 3700X is better for me. The 4.4 GHz single-core max boost frequency helps a lot in gaming, especially when using a high-performance CPU cooler.
That's interesting! I'm currently considering buying one of these CPUs. @Mitch1008, how do you like the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X for general app usage? Is it suitable for tasks like streaming shows, office apps, and browsing the internet?
For general app usage, the 3700X works great! I haven't had any issues with streaming or using office apps. The single-core max boost frequency really helps with loading pages and video content.
Thanks for your input, @dixiebug7 and @Mitch1008. It sounds like the Ryzen 7 3700X might be the way to go. I'll definitely check out the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs. Intel Core i7-11700 that you mentioned, @Mitch1008.
That's good to hear, @peteed1985. I'm leaning towards the 3700X as well. I'm also interested in overclocking capabilities and DDR support - any thoughts on those?
The Ryzen 7 3700X does have good overclocking support and supports DDR4 with a max stock speed of 3200 MHz, which is great for performance.
Alright, that's pretty much what I was hoping to hear. Thanks everyone for your insights! I think I'll go ahead and order the Ryzen 7 3700X.
Great choice, @peteed1985! If you have any questions or need help in the future, feel free to ask. Good luck with your new CPU!
