I've been looking at getting a new CPU for my PC and am trying to decide between the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and the Intel Core i5-14600K. Anyone have experience with these or have any recommendations? I'm mostly going to be using it for gaming, general apps, and some light video editing.

I've been using an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 for a few months now, and it's been fantastic! The performance has been great, especially for gaming. I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the market for a new CPU.
I'm currently using an Intel Core i5-14600K and have found it to be quite good too. It runs my games smoothly and handles general apps without any issues. Both of these CPUs seem to offer excellent performance, so it really comes down to personal preference and budget.
You should check out the TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 5 7600 vs. Intel Core i5-14600K that compares the Ryzen 5 7600 and Core i5-14600K in detail. It might help you make a more informed decision.
@buzzorotto, thanks for sharing that link! I'll definitely take some time to read through it. Just curious, how do these CPUs handle light video editing?
From my experience, both the Ryzen 5 7600 and Core i5-14600K can handle light video editing without any issues. However, if you plan on doing more intensive video editing, you might want to consider stepping up to a higher-end CPU.
@Zicro2K16, thanks for your input! I appreciate it. So, would you say the Ryzen 5 7600 is better suited for gaming and general apps, while the Core i5-14600K has its strengths as well?
That's pretty much my experience too. The Ryzen 5 7600 offers excellent performance in games and general apps, while the Core i5-14600K is also a great choice.
Yeah, I agree with both of you. Ultimately, it depends on your budget and what you prioritize in a CPU. If gaming performance is most important to you, the Ryzen 5 7600 might be the way to go. But if you value other factors like price or specific features, the Core i5-14600K could be a better fit.
@DarthYoda55, I just wanted to mention that in the TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 5 7600 vs. Intel Core i5-14600K they highlighted some differences in terms of overclocking support and DDR memory support between the two CPUs. It might be worth looking into if those factors are important to you when making your decision.
Thanks for the heads-up, @buzzorotto. I'll definitely take a closer look at those aspects. I appreciate all the input from everyone in this thread!
