I've been researching CPUs for my new build and I'm stuck between the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G and the Intel Core i3-12100. Has anyone here used either of these processors? Any advice would be great!

Both are good CPUs but have their own pros and cons. The 5600G has a higher core count, which can give better performance in multi-threaded apps, while the i3-12100 supports PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 for faster data transfer.
I've used both of these processors, and I must say that the Ryzen 5 5600G performed really well in my system. The TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 5 5600G vs. Intel Core i3-12100 has a detailed comparison between these two CPUs. You might find it helpful.
Thanks for sharing your experience, @IgnisDeveloper. I'll definitely check out that TechReviewer article you mentioned. Do you think the higher core count of the 5600G would be beneficial for gaming?
It can be, but it depends on the game and how well it utilizes multiple cores. Some games might not show much difference, while others could benefit from a higher core count.
I've used the i3-12100 in my system, and it works great for general apps like streaming and browsing. The support for PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 makes it future-proof to some extent.
That's good to know, @PresJohnnyGentle. So, if I were to prioritize gaming performance over future-proofing, should I go for the Ryzen 5 5600G?
It really depends on your specific use case. If you're mostly going to be playing games that benefit from a higher core count, then the 5600G might be the better choice. But if you also plan on using your system for other tasks that could take advantage of PCIe 5.0 and DDR5, the i3-12100 could be more suitable.
Thanks for the input everyone. I think I'll check out the TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 5 5600G vs. Intel Core i3-12100 again and see if it can help me make a decision. Any other recommendations?
Just make sure to consider your budget and what you plan on doing with your system. If you're on a tight budget, the i3-12100 might be more affordable. And remember, a good GPU is crucial for gaming performance, so don't skimp on that either.
Good advice, @happilypermanent. I'll take all of this into consideration and make my decision. Thanks again, everyone!
