I'm looking to buy a new CPU for video editing and am having trouble deciding between the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X and the Intel Core i5-10400F. Can anyone give me some advice on which one would be better for this purpose?

Hi @tinaytinapay, both CPUs are good for video editing, but I'd recommend checking out TechReviewer's article about them AMD Ryzen 5 3600X vs. Intel Core i5-10400F. It might help you make a decision!
Yeah, @lizz0188 mentioned a TechReviewer article. I've used the Ryzen 5 3600X before for video editing and it performed really well. The high clock speeds and larger L3 cache size made a big difference in rendering times.
That's good to know, @zoulkyud. But what about the Intel Core i5-10400F? Any experience with that?
I've used both of them for video editing, and I'd say the Ryzen 5 3600X is slightly better. The higher clock speeds really make a difference when you're dealing with large video files.
@ShadowsInOurMind is right, the Ryzen 5 3600X has better overall performance for video editing due to its higher clock speeds, larger L3 cache size, and support for faster memory and PCIe standards. If you can afford it, I'd go for the 3600X.
Thanks for all the input, everyone. The TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 5 3600X vs. Intel Core i5-10400F really helped me understand the differences between these two CPUs. I think I'll go with the Ryzen 5 3600X for my video editing setup.
No problem, @tinaytinapay. Good luck with your new CPU! Just remember to keep an eye on the temperature while you're encoding videos, as it can get pretty hot.
@zoulkyud is right. Make sure you have a good cooling solution for the 3600X, especially if you plan on overclocking.
