That's right. The article I mentioned earlier AMD Ryzen 5 3600X vs. AMD Ryzen 5 3600 goes into detail about the single-core boost frequencies of both CPUs, as well as other factors you might want to consider.

Hey, I've been using the 3600X for a while now and it's great! I noticed a huge difference in performance compared to my old CPU. I highly recommend it.

The 3600 is also good, but if you're looking for a little more power and can afford it, go for the 3600X. It's worth the extra money.

There's an article on TechReviewer that might help you with your decision. AMD Ryzen 5 3600X vs. AMD Ryzen 5 3600 It compares the two CPUs in depth.

Thanks for sharing that link! I'll definitely check it out. What about PCIe support? Is there a significant difference between the 3600 and 3600X?

Yes, the 3600X has better PCIe support, which can be beneficial when using high-speed SSDs and graphics cards.

That's true. I'm not sure if you need that kind of speed for your current setup, but it could be useful in the future.

Yeah, it's always good to have a little extra headroom for upgrades or new hardware. Just something to keep in mind.

Good point. Another thing I'm curious about is single-core boost frequency. How important is that for gaming?

The single-core boost frequency can be quite important for gaming, especially if you're running demanding games or multiple applications at the same time.

I've found that a higher single-core boost frequency helps with gaming performance in general. It's definitely something to consider when choosing between these two CPUs.
