I'm thinking about getting a new CPU for gaming purposes and I'm trying to decide between the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and Intel Core i3-9100F. Has anyone here used either of these? What's your experience been like?

Yeah, I've been using the Ryzen 5 3600 for a while now, and it works great! The single-core max boost frequency is fantastic for gaming, I haven't noticed any issues at all. AMD Ryzen 5 3600 vs. Intel Core i3-9100F has a pretty good overview of its performance.
Thanks for sharing your experience, @tatsuo1475. I'm also curious about the i3-9100F. What's it like?
Hey there! So I've been using the Intel Core i3-9100F for gaming and I must say it leaves a lot to be desired. I had to get a higher-end cooler because the temps got pretty high during some games, which was unexpected. The performance is just mediocre overall.
Ah, that's interesting to know. Thanks for your input, @DukeDawg. So it seems like the Ryzen 5 3600 might be the better choice for gaming? What about general apps?
Yeah, I think you're right. The Ryzen 5 3600 has better overall performance and support for DDR memory. Plus, the PCIe 4.0 compatibility is a big plus when it comes to future-proofing your build.
That's good to hear! Thanks for all the input, guys. So it seems like the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 would be the better choice for gaming and general apps. I'll probably go with that one then!
You're welcome @catmantown. Just remember, every system is different so you might want to check out some benchmarks and reviews before making a final decision.
Good advice! Thanks again, everyone. I feel more confident in my choice now. Have a great day, all!
