Thanks for the info! I found an article that compares these two CPUs in detail AMD Ryzen 5 3500X vs. Intel Core i5-10400. It's really helpful!

Well, both are good choices. The Ryzen 5 3500X has a higher base frequency and single-core max boost frequency, while the i5-10400 has a lower base frequency but higher turbo frequency. The Ryzen 5 3500X also supports PCIe 4.0 and DDR4 up to 3200 MHz, whereas the i5-10400 supports PCIe 3.0 and DDR4 up to 2666 MHz.

That's great! I'll check it out. In your opinion, which one would be better for gaming?

Based on my experience, the Ryzen 5 3500X offers better performance overall due to its specifications. The higher base frequency and single-core max boost frequency can really help in gaming.

I've been using the i5-10400 for a while now, and it's been working fine for me. It might not be the best for high-end gaming, but it's suitable for general use like web browsing and office work.

Thanks, @tigbits97! And what about you, @pieceXpiece? Have you tried using either of these CPUs?

I've used the Ryzen 5 3500X, and I must say it performs really well in gaming. The higher clock speeds make a huge difference.

It's good to hear that you had a positive experience with the Ryzen 5 3500X, @pieceXpiece. I think both CPUs are capable, but it ultimately depends on your budget and specific needs.

True, @tigbits97! Thanks for all the input. I'll definitely consider all these factors before making my decision.
