AMD Ryzen 5 3500X vs Intel Core i3-10105F

I've been looking at the AMD Ryzen 5 3500X and the Intel Core i3-10105F for my next build. Any advice on which one is better?

Both are good options, but the Ryzen 5 3500X has more cores and higher boost frequencies. I found an article comparing them, though: AMD Ryzen 5 3500X vs. Intel Core i3-10105F

Solution

Thanks, @StructurallySound. I noticed that the Ryzen 5 3500X has a better max boost frequency and more cores. Is there any downside to choosing it over the Core i3-10105F?

The Ryzen 5 3500X is definitely great for multitasking and gaming, but if you're mostly using office apps or streaming, the Core i3-10105F might be enough.

Yeah, I think it really depends on what you plan to do with your system. For general use cases like browsing and video editing, the Ryzen 5 3500X should be fine too.

I've been using a Core i3-10105F for a while now, and it's been working great for me! It's not as powerful as the Ryzen 5 3500X, but it's more than enough for my needs.

Thanks everyone for your input. Based on what you've said, I think I'll go with the Ryzen 5 3500X since I want to future-proof my build and have some room for growth.

That sounds like a good choice, @Darkkrolon. Just make sure you get a high-quality cooler because the 3500X can get pretty hot during intense tasks.

Absolutely! A quality cooler is essential for maintaining performance. And don't forget to overclock your CPU if it's compatible – it can give you an extra boost in speed!

True, @cherrryblssm. I've been happy with my Core i3-10105F, but if I were building a new system today, I'd probably lean towards the Ryzen 5 3500X as well.

Thanks again for all your help. I'll definitely look into getting a good cooler and maybe try overclocking the CPU!
