AMD Ryzen 5 2600 RAM Recommendations?

Started by theesportsfan on June 09, 2024

I recently bought an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 and I'm looking for some recommendations on the best RAM to pair with it. Any suggestions?

If you're looking to overclock, I'd recommend trying out the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 MHz DDR4. It has a capacity of 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) and is designed specifically for overclocking. You can check it out in this TechReviewer article: Best RAM for the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU.

For the Ryzen 5 2600, you'll want DDR4 RAM that's compatible with your CPU. Based on my experience, the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro is a reliable choice. It operates at a clock speed of 2933 MHz and has a capacity of 32 GB (2 x 16 GB). This should provide great performance for gaming, content creation, and other demanding tasks. You can find more details in this TechReviewer article: Best RAM for the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU.

Thanks for the suggestion, @kerumeru! I'm also interested in overclocking, so any recommendations for RAM that would be good for that?

Thanks @Imaginebeingamish. I'll look into both options you've mentioned. By the way, does anyone have experience with using DDR5 RAM on a Ryzen 5 2600?

I'm not sure about DDR5 compatibility with your CPU, but I can tell you that the Ryzen 5 2600 officially supports up to 2933 MHz for DDR4 memory. Overclocking may allow you to go beyond this speed, but it's important to check your motherboard's specifications to ensure compatibility.

Great information, @vangogeo. I'll keep that in mind while choosing the RAM. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

One thing to note is that DDR5 RAM can be more expensive than DDR4, so if you're looking for a budget-friendly option, sticking with DDR4 might be the better choice. Additionally, make sure the RAM you choose is compatible with your motherboard's supported memory types.

Good point @alexfish, I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks again everyone! I think I have some researching to do!

No problem, happy hunting for the perfect RAM! If you need any more advice or recommendations, feel free to ask. Good luck!

Agreed! And don't forget to check out TechReviewer's articles on DDR4 vs. DDR5 for more insights and information.

Will do! Thanks again, guys!
